12-Story Luxury Residential Project Revealed At 117 West 21st Street, Chelsea

Curbed has the reveal for The Amirian Group’s planned 12-story, nine-unit residential building at 117 West 21st Street, in eastern Chelsea. The site is currently occupied by a four-story commercial structure, but the developer plans to expand upon the existing building rather than demolish it. GRADE Architecture is designing, and the developer acquired the site for $28.5 million in March.



125 West 16th Street

125 West 16th Street Set For Renovation and Expansion

Per The Real Deal, Raphael Toledano has acquired the six-story, 39-unit rental building at 125 West 16th Street, in southeastern Chelsea, for $41.5 million. The new owner plans to add two stories and 20 units to the top of the building, and the existing structure will also be renovated. Madison Realty Capital provided $34 million for the purchase and construction costs.


92 8th Avenue

Revealed: 92 Eighth Avenue, New Chelsea Apartment Building Replacing Sandy-Damaged Structure

When Hurricane Sandy hit, most of the damage to Manhattan came in the form of flooding, but some buildings were also casualties of high winds. That was especially true at 92 Eighth Avenue, located between 14th and 15th Streets in Chelsea, as the structure’s facade collapsed during the storm, leaving the interiors exposed. But fortunately it is finally being replaced, and YIMBY now has the reveal for the new building, designed by C3D Architecture.
