Covenant House Completes Construction at 460 West 41st Street in Midtown West, Manhattan

Construction is complete on 460 West 41st Street, a 164-foot-tall mixed-use building in Midtown West. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Covenant House, the 80,290-square-foot structure is the first supportive housing development by the company in nearly 50 years and was made possible with help from Gotham Organization and Denham Wolf Real Estate Services. The site is located along the southern border of Hell’s Kitchen between Eighth and Ninth Avenues and West 40th and West 41st Streets, and is a short distance from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The building will yield 60 residential units averaging approximately 884 square feet, as well as a 53,053-square-foot community facility. The project was last reported to cost $128 million.

601 West 29th Street Nears Completion in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Façade work is nearing completion on 601 West 29th Street, a 695-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards and number 19 on our year-end construction countdown. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Douglaston Development, the 60-story structure is also known as “Tower A” in a two-building development alongside 606 West 30th Street, which has yet to begin rising over Midtown, Manhattan. 601 West 29th Street will yield 703 market-rate and 235 affordable housing residences, 50,000 square feet of amenity space, and 15,000 square feet of retail space. Levine Builders is constructing the property, which is bound by Eleventh Avenue to the east, West 29th Street to the south, and West 30th Street to the north.

At number 20 on our year-end countdown is a pair of mixed-use residential skyscrapers at 495 Eleventh Avenue in Midtown West, Manhattan. Designed by FXCollaborative with Gene Kaufman Architects as the architect of record, the 589,842-square-foot project consists of a 680-foot-tall, 57-story edifice paired with a slightly shorter 653-foot-tall, 56-story sibling that will rise along Eleventh Avenue between West 39th and West 40th Streets, next to the Jakob K. Javits Center. NYC Economic Development Corporation is listed as the owner behind the applications that were filed back in late October.

Jolie On Greenwich Continues Progress at 77 Greenwich Street in Financial District, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on Jolie On Greenwich, a 42-story residential skyscraper at 77 Greenwich Street in the Financial District. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Trinity Place Holdings, the 500-foot-tall tower will yield 90 condominiums ranging from one- to four-bedroom layouts with interiors designed by Deborah Berke Partners. Future Green Studio is designing the outdoor landscaping, The Wright Fit is designing the private fitness center, LIVunLtd is managing concierge and hospitality services for residents, and Ryan Serhant from Million Dollar Listing: New York and his team at SERHANT are in charge of handling sales and marketing the homes. Gilbane Building Company is the general contractor for Jolie On Greenwich, which is bound by Greenwich Street to the west, Elizabeth H. Berger Plaza to the south, and Trinity Place to the east.
