OMA’s Cantilevered Towers Break Ground At Greenpoint Landing in North Brooklyn

Brookfield Properties and Park Tower Group have officially broken ground on the most anticipated phase of the Greenpoint Landing mega-development on the shores of northern Brooklyn. Designed by Jason Long of OMA, the new component is comprised of two residential towers and a vast extension of an existing public esplanade. The western tower features a series of cantilevers that reach outward in step with setbacks on the eastern edifice, giving the development a look reminiscent of a game of Tetris.

Facade Installation on Two Blue Slip Continues in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

The glass facade is continuing its climb at Two Blue Slip, aka 41 Blue Slip , in GreenpointBrooklyn, the second tower to rise in the Greenpoint Landing master plan. The topped-out reinforced concrete structure, which stands 40 stories tall above the waterfront, is designed by Handel Architects and co-developed by Park Tower Group and Brookfield Property Partners. L+M Development Partners is the third developer of Greenpoint Landing, but not for this particular tower. 41 Blue Slip stands taller than its adjacent residential sibling One Blue Slip, aka 37 Blue Slip, the first to be erected at the waterfront site.

Handel Architects’ 41 Blue Slip Tops Out at Greenpoint Landing, in Brooklyn

Construction has topped out at 41 Blue Slip, the second building to rise in the Greenpoint Landing master plan. The reinforced concrete structure now stands 40 stories above the waterfront development. Handel Architects is the designer while Park Tower Group and Brookfield Property Partners are its developers. L+M Development Partners is the third developer of the mega project, but was not involved with this building. The project stands to the south of 37 Blue Slip, the first building to be erected at the Greenpoint, Brooklyn construction site. The glass and metal façade is steadily rising on all sides.

Greenpoint Landing’s Next Phase Revealed as OMA Selected For Design Of Two Skycrapers

Partners Brookfield Properties and Park Tower Group have announced the next large phase of development at Greenpoint Landing. The centerpiece will be two residential towers designed by OMA. One acre of public waterfront space designed by James Corner Field Operations will surround the mixed-income housing which will also include another new seven-story building. Thirty percent of the 745 units will be affordable housing. This project will also result in further expansion of Greenpoint’s waterfront esplanade. Marmol Radziner is the interior designer while Beyer Blinder Belle is the executive architect and interior designer.

Greenpoint Landing Mega-Project’s 41 Blue Slip Approaches Topping-Out

The second tower at Greenpoint Landing is on its way to topping off sometime this spring. Addressed at 41 Blue Slip, the building will imminently stand 40 stories atop Greenpoint, on Brooklyn’s East River waterfront. The project is being designed by Handel Architects and developed by both Brookfield Property Partners and Park Tower Group. L+M Development Partners is the third developer of Greenpoint Landing, but is not involved with this particular skyscraper. The site is located just off of Commercial Street behind 5 Blue Slip, and sits about a quarter mile to the north of The Greenpoint, aka 21 India Street.
