New renderings are out for 540 Hudson Street, a seven-story mixed-use building proposed in Greenwich Village. The site is two blocks away from the Christopher Street Station, serviced by the PATH Train, and the Christopher Street Subway Station, serviced by the 1 and 2 trains. The project would fill a vacant lot in the heart of the village. Morris Adjmi Architects will be responsible for the undulating design.
Four months after the structure topped out, we have an update for construction at 21 East 12th Street in the Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Installation of the façade is underway, having now reached up to the fifth floor.
Permits have been filed for a 13-story mixed-use building at 531 Sixth Avenue in the Greenwich Village, Manhattan. The development will sit at the crossroads between Chelsea, the West Village, and Union Square. Stops from just about every Subway line are nearby, and Gemini Rosemont will be responsible for development.
The blocks of Greenwich Village are perhaps the most difficult spot for new development in all of New York City, but according to a tipster, that hasn’t gotten in the way of Madison Realty Capital’s plans to put a new tower at 14 Fifth Avenue, between West 8th and West 9th Streets. Plans have been created for the site by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, and while they have yet to receive approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission, the new building would be both prominent, and attractive.
The blocks between Greenwich Village and Union Square have seen several developments rise over the past few years, especially on East 12th Street, between Fifth Avenue and University Place. While NIMBYs are attempting to pass another rezoning to restrict new construction even further, that will not stop progress at 21 East 12th Street, which has now officially topped-out.
