Exterior Work Wraps Up on 460 Main Street on Roosevelt Island

Work on the installation of the glass and brick fenestration for 460 Main Street, aka Riverwalk 8, has reached the roof parapet. Now most of the activity has shifted to finishing the ground-floor exterior of the 21-story, 341-unit building, located on Roosevelt Island and designed by Handel Architects. This will be the eighth component in the nine-building Riverwalk Park rental complex, which is developed as a joint venture between Related Companies and Hudson Companies.

Permits have been filed for a 22-story mixed-use building at 33 Commercial Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Located between 7 Bell Slip and the future Box Street Park as part of the Greenpoint Landing complex, the interior lot is closest to the Greenpoint Avenue subway station, serviced by the G train. Guy Morton, vice-president of construction at Park Tower Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Sven Nears Topping Out at 27-29 Queens Plaza North, in Long Island City

Construction is getting close to topping out at Queens Plaza Park, aka Sven, a 755-foot-tall residential skyscraper at 27-29 Queens Plaza North in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by The Durst Organization, the reflective glass curtain is also nearing the halfway mark of the concave-shaped superstructure. Selldorf Architects is the interior designer for the 67-story project, which is alternately addressed as 29-37 41st Avenue.

Handel Architects’ 451 Tenth Avenue Makes Swift Excavation Progress In Hudson Yards

Excavation is getting deeper at 451 Tenth Avenue in Hudson Yards, site of a 580-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper from Handel Architects. Bryan Cho of Related Companies filed permits in early June 2019 for the 44-story building, which will rise directly to the north of 66 Hudson BoulevardBjarke Ingels‘ supertall known as The Spiral. A great deal of earth has been excavated from the lot, a former parking lot located between West 35th and 36th Streets and Tenth Avenue and Hudson Boulevard. Spitzer Enterprises is co-developing alongside Related.
