Studio Sofield Reveals Residential Amenities at 111 West 57th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Last week, YIMBY attended a special unveiling of the amenity spaces at 111 West 57th Street, a 1,428-foot residential supertall on Billionaires’ Row in Midtown. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development Group, Property Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners, the 84-story skyscraper yields 60 units and incorporates the restored Steinway Hall, the landmarked former showroom of the Steinway & Sons piano company. Corcoran Group is the exclusive sales and marketing representative for the property, which is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. Available residences range from $7,750,000 to $66,000,000.

Brooklyn Tower’s Façade Nears Completion at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn

Exterior work is getting closer to completion on The Brooklyn Tower, a 93-story residential supertall at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, the 1,066-foot skyscraper stands as the tallest structure in the outer boroughs and will yield 550 residences, with 150 condominiums, 280 market-rate rentals, and 120 affordable rentals, as well as a 100,000-square-foot retail podium that incorporates the renovated landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn. Gachot Studios is in charge of residential interior design, Krista Ninivaggi of Woods Bagot is handling amenity design, HMWhite is the landscape designer, R&R Scaffolding supplied the BMU, and Douglas Elliman Development Marketing Group is the exclusive marketing, sales, and leasing agent for the property, which is bound by Flatbush Avenue Extension to the northeast, Fleet Street to the northwest, DeKalb Avenue to the south, and the adjoining Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn to the west.

Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, the 1,066-foot-tall structure stands as the tallest building in the outer boroughs that will boast 150 condominium units, 280 market-rate rental units, 120 affordable rental units, and 100,000-square-foot retail podium that incorporates the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn. Homes for purchase are going to start over 500 feet above street level. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, the 93-story tower currently stands as the tallest structure in the outer boroughs and is going to have 150 condominium units, 280 market-rate rentals, 120 affordable rental units, and 100,000-square-foot retail podium that would incorporate the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn. The first set of homes for purchase will start over 500 feet above street level. Closings have begun for the 46 condominium units within the main tower of 111 West 57th Street, a 1,428-foot residential supertall in Midtown. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, Property Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners, the 84-story edifice stands as the world’s most slender building. Studio Sofield is the interior designer and The Corcoran Group is leading sales and marketing for the residences, which also include 14 homes within the restored Steinway Hall building in the podium. WSP is the structural engineer, RWDI consulted with the design of the 800-ton tuned mass damper, Jaros, Baum & Bolles is the MEP engineer, R&R Scaffolding Ltd. provided the building maintenance unit (BMU) sitting atop the crown, and BuroHappold Engineering is the façade consultant for the project, which is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues on Billionaires’ Row.

Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, the building will yield 550 residences, with 150 for purchase, as well as a 100,000-square-foot retail podium bound by Flatbush Avenue Extension to the northeast, Fleet Street to the northwest, and DeKalb Avenue to the south. This public portion of The Brooklyn Tower will utilize the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn, which is being renovated. YIMBY last reported that 30 percent of rentals are designated as affordable housing units, and residences for purchase start over 500 feet above street level.

Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, Property Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners, 111 West 57th Street will yield just 60 condominiums with interiors designed by Studio Sofield and marketed by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing. The project is located on Billionaires’ Row between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, and is almost perfectly aligned with the centerline of Central Park.

The Brooklyn Tower complex also includes the refurbishing and repurposing of the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn, which is being incorporated into the podium. The project also includes the refurbishing and re-purposing of the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn, which is being incorporated into the podium.
