Four-Story, 21-Unit Residential Building Proposed at 662 Summit Avenue, Jersey City

An anonymous LLC has proposed to develop a four-story, 21-unit residential building at 662 Summit Avenue in Jersey City. That’s on the corner of Route 139 in the Heights. The project would also include 12 off-street parking spaces, Jersey Digs reported. The site consists of a small, vacant lot and a single-story commercial warehouse at 165 St. Pauls Avenue, which have to be demolished. The Jersey City Zoning Board of Adjustment must approve the project.

10-Unit Residential Conversion Proposed For Former Church At 162 Mercer Street, Jersey City

An LLC is proposing to convert the abandoned Bethesda Baptist Church at 162 Mercer Street, located within the Van Vorst Park section of downtown Jersey City, into 10 condominium units. The project would utilize the former house of worship and the attached three-story rectory. Exterior alterations would include changes to the windows and roofs.

Plans For 1.2-Million-Square-Foot Office Tower Gain Steam At 136 Greene Street, Jersey City

Mack-Cali Realty Corporation has announced its partnership with SJP Properties to develop Harborside 4, a 1.2-million-square-foot office tower long-proposed at 136 Greene Street, in the Exchange Place district of downtown Jersey City. The development team won’t break ground on the tower until an anchor tenant has signed on, Real Estate NJ reported. The site, bound by Christopher Columbus Drive, and Greene, Pearl, and Hudson streets, is currently a parking lot.

In May, YIMBY unveiled renderings for a 37-story condo tower at 75 Park Lane South, in the Newport area of Jersey City. Today, Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and executives from developer Strategic Capital broke ground on the project, which will include a shorter companion building called Shore House.

Foundation Work Underway For Provost Square’s 28-Story, 505-Unit Mixed-Use Tower, Jersey City

Foundation work is now underway on phase two of Provost Square, a two-towered mixed-use development half-way complete in downtown Jersey City. The first phase of the project, The Morgan at Provost Square, at 160 Morgan Street, opened for occupancy in late 2015. It rises 38 stories and contains 420 residential units, as well as 13,020 square feet of retail. The second phase will consist of a 28-story tower with 505 residential units and retail space. The Jersey City Planning Board has recently approved plans for a four-story, three-unit mixed-use building at 415 1/2 Monmouth Street, located in a section of Jersey City called The Village. The project will feature commercial-retail space on the ground floor, followed by three full-floor condominium units on the floors above.

Nine-Story, 99-Unit Mixed-Use Building Approved For 136 Summit Avenue, Jersey City

The Jersey City Planning Board recently approved plans for a nine-story, 99-unit mixed-use building at 136 Summit Avenue, located on the corner of Fairmount Avenue in Jersey City’s McGinley Square section. The project will include 2,240 square feet of retail space and a 75-car parking garage. Monticello Equities is the developer and Kushner Studios is behind the architecture. The site is currently occupied by a three-story medical building. A construction timeline has not been disclosed, Jersey Digs reported.

Three-Story, 80,000-Square-Foot Medical Facility Tops Out At 497 Broadway, Bayonne

Construction has topped out on the three-story, 80,000-square-foot medical facility at 497 Broadway, located between West 23rd and 24th streets in Bayonne, N.J. Officially dubbed RWJBarnabas Health at Bayonne, it will feature an emergency department, pharmacy, pediatric center, and a women’s health center, among other uses.

15-Story, 255-Unit Mixed-Use Building Rises To Sixth Floor At 207 Van Vorst Street, Jersey City

Construction is now six stories above street level on the first of two 15-story, mixed-use buildings under development at 207 Van Vorst Street, in Jersey City’s Paulus Hook section. Work, presumably excavation, has also begun on the second building. Fields Development Group is the developer and Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects is behind the design.
