The Spiral at 66 Hudson Boulevard Nearly One-Third of The Way Up in Hudson Yards

Construction on Bjarke Ingels Group‘s 66 Hudson Boulevard, aka The Spiral, is around one-third of its full architectural height. The massive $3.7 billion Hudson Yards supertall is being built directly across the street to the north of Foster + Partners‘ 50 Hudson Yards, which has been rising neck and neck with BIG’s 66-story design throughout most of 2020. Tishman Speyer is the developer, Turner Construction Company is the construction manager, and Banker Steel is in charge of manufacturing the steel for the 1,031-foot-tall skyscraper.

The West’s Façade Continues Installation at 547 West 47th Street in Hell’s Kitchen

Exterior work is progressing on The West, a 12-story residential building at 547 West 47th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. Located between West 47th Street and West 48th Street, the 201,000-square-foot project is designed by Concrete and developed by Ironstate Development, CB Developers, and SK Development Group, which purchased the property for $93 million in the summer of 2018. The developers are aiming for LEED certification.

Gabellini Sheppard Associates Reveals Next Phase of Renovations At 45 Rockefeller Plaza In Midtown, Manhattan

The next phase of renovations at Manhattan’s historic Rockefeller Plaza will be reviewed by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in a public hearing on Tuesday, June 30. Tishman Speyer, current owner of the complex, has proposed a multitude of alterations as part of a masterplan conceived by Gabellini Sheppard Associates. This newly revealed component is specifically focused on the east lobby and mezzanine at 45 Rockefeller Plaza, also known as the International Building and 630 Fifth Avenue.

Hillrose 28’s Façade Begins to Emerge at 157-161 East 28th Street in Kips Bay

The scaffolding and black netting that has shrouded Hillrose 28, aka 157-161 East 28th Street in the Manhattan neighborhood of Kips Bay, is coming down. The facade is finally being revealed, starting with the stepped upper floors and roof parapet. C3D Architecture is the project designer, Lemay + Escobar is the interior designer, and Forkosh Development is the developer of the topped-out, 191-foot-tall, 20-story property. Corcoran Sunshine is in charge of marketing and selling the 43 residential units, which comprises 66,125 square feet of space in the development.
