At number 26 on our December countdown is 555 West 38th Street, a 570-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Midtown, Manhattan’s Hudson Yards district. Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Rockrose, the 52-story tower will yield 598 rental units. Site C GC LLC is the general contractor for the project, which is located along Eleventh Avenue between West 38th Street and West 39th Street, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.

Designed by MdeAS Architects and developed by Brookfield Properties, the project involved the re-cladding and interior renovation of the 386,190-square-foot midcentury office structure. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the property, which is located on Sixth Avenue between West 42nd and 43rd Streets.

Construction Wraps Up on Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences at 1185 Broadway in Nomad, Manhattan

At number 28 on YIMBY’s annual construction countdown is the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences, a 580-foot-tall skyscraper at 1185 Broadway in the Midtown, Manhattan neighborhood of NoMad. Designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by MarriottRitz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties, the 45-story tower will yield 250 guest rooms spread across 150,000 square feet, as well as 16 one- and two-bedroom penthouse residences perched on the upper levels. Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 28th Street. The Erin Boisson Aries team at Christie’s International Real Estate is handling the sales of the penthouses.

606 West 30th Street Resumes Construction in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

YIMBY is kicking off its annual countdown of the 31 tallest buildings being built in New York City, starting with 606 West 30th Street, a 545-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards that recently resumed construction after a period of inactivity. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Lalezarian Properties, the 42-story mixed-use skyscraper will yield a total 312,350 square feet, of which 192,780 will be dedicated to residential space and 14,240 for commercial use. The Midtown, Manhattan property is located between Eleventh Avenue and West Street, near the border with West Chelsea. 606 West 30th Street is also known as Tower B in a two-tower development along with the adjacent 601 West 29th Street, an already topped-out 695-foot-tall skyscraper by FXCollaborative for Douglaston Development.
