Demolition is moving along steadily at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, where the 46-story tower has been reduced to around half its former size. The 30-year-old, 470-foot-tall steel superstructure formerly housed the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton and will be replaced by a new hotel dubbed TSX Broadway. Designed by PBDW Architects, Mancini Duffy, and Perkins Eastman, and developed by L&L Holding Company, Maefield Development, and Fortress Investment Group, the new structure will rise 46 stories and span 550,000 square feet.
Construction has topped out at 145 West 47th Street, a 48-story hotel in Times Square. Designed by Berg + Moss Architects and developed by Tribeach Holdings, the property will operate as a 353,000-square foot, 630-room hotel.
Construction has topped out at 30 West 39th Street, a 300-room hotel in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Peter Poon Architects and developed by Fortuna Realty, the 27-story reinforced concrete structure stands 323 feet tall and spans 133,500 square feet. Leeding Builders Group, LLC is the general contractor for the project.
The Hard Rock Hotel’s glass curtain wall is closing in on the final floors of the 35-story project at 159 West 48th Street in Times Square. Developed by Extell and Hard Rock International, the structure made incredible progress over the past few months, reaching its 442-foot-tall parapet in the blink of an eye. The 291,000-square-foot development will contain 446 guest rooms, two entertainment venues, flexible meeting spaces, round-the-clock dining options, a fitness center, and a rooftop lounge. SLCE Architects is the architect of record.
Foundation work is taking shape at 150 West 48th Street, the site of a 974-room hotel in Times Square. The 300,216-square-foot structure is designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by Sam Chang of McSam Hotel Group, which purchased the property from Rockefeller Group in early 2019 for $140 million, and received a $250 million construction loan before breaking ground. Located between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue, the project will be one of the largest hotels in the city when complete.
