200 East 83rd Street’s Façade Installation Continues on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Façade installation is continuing to progress on 200 East 83rd Street, a 35-story residential tower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and developed by Naftali Group and Rockefeller Group, the 243,128-square-foot reinforced concrete superstructure will yield 86 units spread over 205,877 square feet, averaging 2,393 square feet apiece. Sales for the homes are currently underway and are being handled by Compass. SLCE Architects is the architect of record and Leeding Builders Group is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 83rd Street.

Residential Amenities Revealed for Gotham Point in Hunters Point South, Queens

The Gotham Organization and RiseBoro Community Partnership have revealed amenity spaces at Gotham Point, a dual tower residential development in Hunters Point South, Queens. Amenities include include a rooftop terrace, sundecks, communal lounges, an indoor-outdoor fitness center, co-working space, a children’s playroom, and an urban rooftop farm and boathouse.

Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 228 Berry Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located between Grand Street and North 1st Street, the interior lot is closest to the Bedford Avenue subway station, serviced by the L train. Hershy Silberstein of Blue Shine Builders Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications.

New York Korea Center Continues to Progress at 122-126 East 32nd Street in Murray Hill, Manhattan

Work is continuing to progress behind scaffolding on the New York Korea Center, a seven-story structure at 122-126 East 32nd Street in Murray Hill. Designed by Samoo Architects and Engineers (SAMOO) and developed by Level Group, the 36,500-square-foot edifice will serve as the headquarters for the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in New York, which purchased the property in March 2008 at a cost of $15.8 million. This sale also included the use of nearly 4,500 square feet of air rights. Construction took a quite some time to commence, and ground broke in June 2018 for the 120-foot-tall project. KSK Construction Group is the general contractor for the building, which sits between Park Avenue South and Lexington Avenue. The developers are aiming for LEED Certification.

Permits Filed for a 21-Story, Two-Tower Development at 404 Carroll Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Located adjacent to the Gowanus Canal between Nevins Street and Bond Street, the lot is a few blocks from the Carroll Street subway station, serviced by the F and G trains. The Vorea Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Calyer Place Waterfront Complex Continues to Rise Over Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Construction is continuing to rise on Calyer Place, a nearly 1-million-square-foot residential development on the Greenpoint, Brooklyn waterfront. Designed by Cooper Robertson & Partners with SLCE Architects as the architect of record, and developed by M&H Realty LLC, the project includes a pair of 40-story towers along with 32- and 22-story siblings, and will yield around 700,000 square feet of residential space with 700 apartments, as well as 10,000 square feet of commercial space, 7,160 square feet for unspecified community facility use, and over 600 parking spaces. The land was once home to the historic Greenpoint Terminal Market, which suffered a ten-alarm fire and was demolished in 2017 before site preparations and construction began.

Developers Reveal Renderings of Eight-Story Building in Kew Gardens, Queens

FBL Development has revealed the first renderings of 81-07 Kew Gardens Road, a new eight-story building in Kew Gardens, Queens. The structure will eventually comprise 48,000 square feet with a mix of rental apartments and a ground-floor retail space.

Spanning the length of Nevins Street between Degraw Street and Sackett Street, the lot also addressed as 537 Sackett Street. The site is walking distance from the Union Street subway station, serviced by the R train. The Vorea Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.

YIMBY Scopes Views From SHoP’s Topped-Out ‘Brooklyn Tower’ at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn

Construction has topped out on the newly renamed Brooklyn Tower, a 93-story supertall skyscraper and the tallest structure in the Outer Boroughs at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS, the 1,066-foot-tall tower will yield 550 residences, with 150 for purchase and 400 rentals with 30 percent of which reserved at affordable housing rates, as well as a 100,000-square-foot retail podium bound by Flatbush Avenue Extension to the northeast, Fleet Street to the northwest, and DeKalb Avenue to the south. The project also includes the refurbishing and re-purposing of the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn, which is being incorporated into the podium. Douglas Elliman is the exclusive marketing, sales, and leasing agent.
