City officials, project partners, and community leaders recently joined to celebrate the commencement of construction at Dekalb Commons, a three-building affordable housing complex in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Magnusson Architecture & Planning and developed in partnership by the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation and St. Nicks Alliance, the buildings are currently addressed as 652 Dekalb Avenue, 639 Dekalb Avenue, and 1187 Fulton Street.
Construction is complete on 3ELEVEN, a 60-story residential skyscraper at 601 West 29th Street along the border of West Chelsea and Hudson Yards. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Douglaston Development, the 695-foot-tall structure is also known as Tower A alongside the shorter 606 West 30th Street and yields 935 rental units, with 235 designated for affordable housing, as well as 15,000 square feet of retail space on the podium floors. ES Windows supplied the glass curtain wall and Levine Builders served as the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 311 Eleventh Avenue and bound by West 30th Street to the north, West 29th Street to the south, and Eleventh Avenue to the east.
Construction is moving quickly at 626 Summit Avenue, the site of a new 29-story mixed-use tower in Jersey City. Designed by MVMK Architects for an anonymous development company, the building will contain 209 rental units, two retail suites, and office space.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 1775 Coney Island Avenue, an eight-story mixed-use building in Midwood, Brooklyn. Designed by Studio Gallos and developed by Eddie Yair, the structure yields 75 residences and 22 parking spaces. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 23 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $74,572 to $227,630.
