YIMBY last brought you a construction update on the 32-story, 363-unit mixed-use modular tower rising at 461 Dean Street, in Prospect Heights, back in the summer of 2014, when the building was only six stories in height. The project, dubbed B2 and part of the 15-tower mega-development Pacific Park, has seen significant delays over the past few years, but the structure is now at the 25th floor. The New York Times reports 181 of the apartments will be rented at below market-rates. There will also be 4,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, as well as 15,000 square feet for arena storage. Forest City Ratner is developing, and SHoP Architects is behind the design.
Pacific Park’s first affordable rental building has topped out at 535 Carlton Avenue, according to PR reps for the project. Construction began just over a year ago, and now all 19 stories of concrete have risen at the corner of Pacific Street and Carlton Avenue.
Back in September, filings were submitted for the planned 26-story, 323-unit mixed-use building at 37 Sixth Avenue/495 Dean Street/664 Pacific Street, in Prospect Heights, and now DNAinfo has the project’s reveal. A 616-seat, 69,858 square-foot public school will span seven floors within the building: two below-grade levels and the first five floors. The project is a part of the Pacific Park mega-development, and a team comprised of Greenland Group and Forest City Ratner is developing; Marvel Architects is designing. Demolition is currently underway on three townhouses fronting Dean Street.
It’s been 12 long years since the Pacific Park megaproject was first announced as Atlantic Yards, and the Prospect Heights development hit a major milestone yesterday with the topping out of 550 Vanderbilt Avenue, a 17-story condo building. PR reps for the project sent along shots of the concrete shell that’s risen at the corner of Dean Street, taken by photographer Max Touhey.
Over a year ago, YIMBY reported on applications for a 19-story, 298-unit residential building at 535 Carlton Avenue, in Prospect Heights. The project is one of 15 buildings in the Pacific Park mega development being constructed by Forest City Ratner and Greenland Group. Crain’s reported on the site’s groundbreaking last December, and now the building is five stories above street level, per photos by Tectonic. Ground-floor retail space will measure 8,324 square feet and the building’s rental units will average 925 square feet apiece. COOKFOX Architects is designing, and completion is expected in 2017.
