The Cove at 43-12 Hunter Street sits in the middle of Long Island City, Queens. The detailed grey-colored curtain wall of windows and metal panels cover the entire 18-story, reinforced concrete edifice. Right now the final touches remain on the ground-floor envelope, sidewalk, and interiors. SLCE Architects is the designer of the building and Slade Architecture is in charge of the interior design. Rockrose Development is the developer of the triangular site, which was previously purchased for $1 million back in 2006. The Cove will yield 123 rental units with 37 units being affordable homes, or roughly 30 percent of the total inventory.

Exterior work is getting close to completion on Long Island City‘s Skyline Tower, the tallest skyscraper in the outer boroughs. Located at 23-15 44th Drive, the 778-foot-tall residential tower is designed by Hill West Architects and developed by United Construction & Development Group, FSA Capital, and Risland US Holdings LLC. Modern Spaces is the exclusive marketing and sales agency for the 802 residences, which are designed by Whitehall Interiors. The nearly $1 billion edifice is now almost entirely enclosed in glass, with only the ground floor and crown left to be completed.

Construction at 27-49 Jackson Avenue Halted at Halfway Mark in Long Island City, Queens

A stop work order has been placed on 27-49 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens, halting construction around the halfway mark of the 146-foot-tall residential building. Upon inspection, it appears that progress on the 4,000-square-foot plot has been stagnant for quite some time. Designed by Raymond Chan Architect and developed by ARCFE, the structure began construction in the summer of 2018 and steadily continued to ascend until last fall. The 14-story building will eventually contain 9,873 of residential space split among 37 homes, as well as 1,739 square feet of commercial space. iX Construction is the general contractor.
