One Times Square Tops Out in Times Square, Manhattan

Officials and crews recently celebrated the topping out of One Times Square, a 26-story commercial tower at 1475 Broadway in Times Square. Designed by S9 Architecture with SLCE as the architect of record and developed by Jamestown, the $500 million project involves the full gut renovation and exterior re-cladding of the 119-year-old, 395-foot-tall structure, along with the addition of new LED displays and public viewing decks with platforms that will overlook the famous crossroads. R&R Scaffolding Companies will supply the BMU and Turner Construction Company is the general contractor for the property, which is located on a trapezoidal plot bound by West 43rd Street to the north, West 42nd Street to the south, Broadway to the east, and Seventh Avenue to the west.

Housing Lottery Launches for Coney Island Phase 2 at 2938 West 16th Street in Coney Island, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Coney Island Phase 2, a ten-story mixed-use building at 2938 West 16th Street in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by BFC Partners, the structure yields 376 residences, commercial space, and 57 parking spaces. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 299 units for residents at 30 to 120 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $17,006 to $210,120.

59 Henry Street Stands Topped Out in Two Bridges, Manhattan

Construction is continuing to progress on 59 Henry Street, a 19-story mixed-use building in Two Bridges, Manhattan. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by W & L Group, the 227-foot-tall structure topped out in the spring and will span nearly 98,000 square feet and yield 80 rental units with an average scope of 714 square feet, as well as 40,305 square feet of community facility space on the first five stories, 26 enclosed parking spaces, a penthouse, and a cellar level. Front Wave Construction is the general constructor for the project, which is located between Catherine and Market Streets.

The Domain Companies has launched an affordable housing lottery for apartments at The Estela, a two-building rental complex in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. Located at 414 and 445 Gerard Avenue, the property contains a mix of 380 market-rate units, 164 affordable apartments, 35,000 square feet of tenant amenities, and about 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, which will include a grocery store.

Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by L+M Development Partners, Type A Projects, and BronxWorks, the structure yields 542 residences, 56,000 square feet of community facility space, 12,000 square feet of retail space, and will serve as the home of the Universal Hip Hop Museum. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 432 units for residents at 30 to 120 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $18,515 to $198,600.

The Domain Companies has shared a collection of interior renderings for Estela, a two-building rental property at 414 and 445 Gerard Avenue in the Mott Haven section of The Bronx. Designed by S9 Architecture, the development contains a mix of 380 market-rate apartments, 164 affordable housing units, and around 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property is located near the Harlem River between East 144th and 146th Streets.

New York City Football Club Reveals Renderings of 25,000-Seat Willets Point Soccer Stadium in Corona, Queens

In a meeting with Willets Point Queens Community Board 7, the New York City Football Club presented its plans to construct a 25,000-seat soccer stadium near Citi Field in Corona, Queens. Known as the Willets Point Revitalization Plan, the scope of work also includes a 100-percent affordable housing project with more than 2,500 units, a 650-seat school, a 250-key hotel, retail and dining locations, and more than 40,000 square feet of public open space.

Exterior work is progressing on 1607 Surf Avenue, a ten-story, 100-percent affordable housing building in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Designed by S9 Architecture and Engineering and developed by BFC Partners, the 104-foot-tall structure will span 360,912 square feet and yield 376 rental units spread across 282,095 square feet, as well as 11,000 square feet of commercial space, 9,000 square feet of community space, a cellar level, and a 2,500-square-foot primary care facility run by New York City Health + Hospitals. Coney Island Associates Phase 2 is the general contractor for the $189 million project, which is bound by Surf Avenue to the south, West 16th Street to the east, and West 17th Street to the West.

Construction has topped out on Myrtle Point, a 17-story rental tower at 3-50 St. Nicholas Avenue in Ridgewood, Queens. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed in collaboration by Arch Companies and AB Capstone, the building will be the tallest residential property in the Ridgewood-Bushwick area and is expected to debut in 2023.
