Foundations Take Shape for Two-Tower Complex at 80 Clarkson and 570 Washington Street in West Village, Manhattan

Foundation work is progressing at 80 Clarkson Street and 570 Washington Street, the site of a two-tower residential complex in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by COOKFOX Architects with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Zeckendorf Development, Atlas Capital, and The Baupost Group, the $1.25 billion project will consist of 29- and 36-story towers spanning a total of 937,808 square feet with 440 units. WSP is the structural engineer for the project.

Construction has reached the roof parapet of 262 Fifth Avenue, a 56-story residential skyscraper in NoMad, Manhattan. Designed by Meganom with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and developed by Boris Kuzinez of Five Points Development under the Five Points 262 Project LLC, the 860-foot-tall structure will yield 26 condominium units with an average scope of 3,200 square feet, including at least one quadruplex unit. GEA Consulting Engineers is the MEP engineer and CM & Associates Construction Management is the general contractor for the project, which rises from a 5,000-square-foot plot at the southwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 29th Street.

Construction has begun to rise above street level on 32 West 48th Street, a 31-story hotel tower in Midtown, Manhattan’s Diamond District. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Extell, the 456-foot-tall structure will yield 213,158 square feet with 534 guest rooms with an average scope of 316 square feet. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, directly south of Rockefeller Center.
