Façade work is nearing completion on The Cortland, a 26-story condominium building designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects at 555 West 22nd Street in West Chelsea. Developed by Related Companies with SLCE Architects as the architect of record, the nearly 300-foot-tall reinforced concrete structure will yield 141 residential units spread over 250,000 square feet, for an average of 2,245 square feet. The building rises along West Street and the Hudson River waterfront between West 22nd and West 23rd Streets.

Located between West End Avenue and Broadway, the 2,850-square-foot lot is currently occupied by a two-story commercial building built in 1910. Fetner Properties is listed as the owner behind the application.

Taystee Lab Building Nears Completion at 450 West 126th Street in Manhattanville, Manhattan

Exterior work is wrapping up on the Taystee Lab Building, an 11-story mixed-use project at 450 West 126th Street in the Manhattanville section of West Harlem. Designed by LEVENBETTS and SLCE and developed by Janus Property Group, the 350,000-square-foot building will yield Class A office space as well as lab facilities and additional space for organizations devoted to life sciences, technology, academic and non-profit programs, retail, and the arts. The complex gets its name from the Taystee Cake Bakery Factory that once stood on the plot. BR+A Consulting Engineers constructed the rectangular reinforced concrete structure and LendLease served as the construction manager for the edifice. 450 West 126th Street is located between Amsterdam Avenue to the west and Morningside Avenue to the east.

One Wall Street’s Residential Conversion and Retail Addition Nears Completion in Financial District

Work is nearing completion on One Wall Street, the largest office-to-residential conversion project in New York City’s history. Developed by Macklowe Properties, the 21st century overhaul is expected to cost around $1.5 billion, transforming the 90-year-old, 564-foot-tall Art Deco skyscraper with a multi-story addition designed by SLCE Architects as well as a 44,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market and a Life Time fitness center on the lower levels. The Financial District property will yield 566 new units with sales handled and marketed by Compass.

Grace Baptist Church to Build a 14-Story Mixed-Use Affordable Housing Building in Mount Vernon

The Grace Baptist Church has big plans for the adjacent empty lot at Sixth Avenue and Second Street in Mount Vernon. Proposals are in the works for a 14-story building known as The Grace, yielding 267 apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom units, parking below grade for 130 vehicles, ground-floor space for church conference rooms, and a catering hall. SLCE Architects is responsible for the design.
