Stone Façades Progressing on Beckford Tower and House on the Upper East Side

Exterior work is moving along at Beckford Tower and Beckford House, a pair of residential buildings in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Workers are installing the final sections of Brynne Brownstone and Indiana Limestone on Beckford House, located at 301 East 81st Street, also addressed as 1562 Second Avenue, and Beckford Tower at 301 East 80th Street. The project is designed by Studio Sofield and SLCE Architects and is being developed by Icon Realty ManagementCM & Associates is in charge of construction management.

Construction on One Boerum Place in Downtown Brooklyn is getting close to topping out. The 21-story mixed-use condominium building is rising from a narrow triangular-shaped parcel bound by Boerum Place, Red Hook Lane, and Fulton Street. The project is designed by SLCE Architects and is being developed by Avery Hall InvestmentsAllegra Holdings, and Aria Development Group, which acquired a $165 million construction loan from Jutland Finance. The total cost is expected to be around $250 million.

368 Third Avenue Approaching Final Residential Floors in Kips Bay

Construction has reached the final floors of 368 Third Avenue in the Manhattan neighborhood of Kips Bay. The 388-foot-tall reinforced concrete structure has risen rapidly since mid-June, when excavation was still underway. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Minrav Development, the 35-story, 145,000-square-foot building will house 100 apartments for an average of 1,100 square feet apiece.

Dunn Development Corp., listed as the owner behind the applications, is also responsible for the Bergen Saratoga Apartments, an 80-unit affordable and supportive housing building in the same neighborhood.

220 Central Park South Readies for 2020 Opening in Midtown

Work is wrapping up on 220 Central Park South, number ten on YIMBY’s countdown of the tallest skyscrapers rising in the city. The 950-foot-tall, 67-story tower is designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and contains 593,000 square feet of residential space that overlooks Central Park and Columbus Circle. Vornado Realty Trust is the developer of the $1.4-billion-dollar project and expects a $3.4 billion sellout. SLCE Architects is the executive architect, while Thierry W. Despont is designing the building’s interiors.
