Two Manhattan West Nears Topping Out in Midtown West, Manhattan

Construction is nearing topping out on Two Manhattan West, a 58-story commercial skyscraper in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield, the 935-foot-tall tower will yield two million square feet of office space directly to the south of its 996-foot-high fraternal twin, One Manhattan West. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of West 31st Street and Ninth Avenue. Brookfield is aiming for LEED Gold certification.

Disney’s Headquarters Continues Ascent at 137 Varick Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Construction is continuing to rise on Disney’s 1.2 million-square-foot headquarters at 137 Varick Street in Hudson Square. Alternately addressed as Four Hudson Square, the 22-story, 338-foot-tall steel-framed structure is designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and is being developed by Silverstein Properties. The media giant purchased the full-block parcel from Trinity Church Real Estate for a total of $650 million and Skanska demolished four old structures that occupied the site last summerLendlease is constructing the new headquarters, which is bound by Varick Street to the east, Spring Street to the south, Hudson Street to the west, and Vandam Street to the north.

Exterior work is wrapping up on 1245 Broadway, a 23-story commercial building in NoMad. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by GDSNY and Sweden-based Klövern AB, the 318-foot-tall, LEED Gold structure will yield 200,000 square feet of office space with leasing handled by CBRE. StructureTech NY and Triton Construction are building the Midtown, Manhattan project, which stands at the corner of West 31st Street and Broadway.

Work is nearing completion on 28&7, a 12-story office building at 322-326 Seventh Avenue in Chelsea. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and developed by Klövern AB and GDSNY, the edifice rises at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 28th Street and will yield 105,000 square feet of commercial space marketed by CBRE. Triton Construction is the general contractor for the reinforced concrete structure, which is located directly above the 28th Street subway station, servicing the local 1 train. The developers are aiming for LEED Gold and WELL certification.
