Renderings Reveal National Urban League’s New Harlem Location at 121 West 125th Street

National Urban League is moving to 121 West 125th Street on Harlem‘s main corridor as part of a massive $242 million development. The historic civil rights organization is leaving its Financial District location for a 21,500-square-foot plot between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and Lenox Avenue. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by BRP Companies, Dabar Development, L+M Development Partners, Taconic Partners and Prusik Group, the mixed-use project will yield a total of 414,000 square feet and rise 17 stories. Additional components include 170 affordable housing units, 70,000-square-feet of Class A office space, and 110,000 square feet of retail.

Renderings Revealed For SHoP Architects-Designed Skyscraper at 2 Hudson Square, in Lower Manhattan

Today, YIMBY has the scoop and exclusive reveal of official renderings for the 450,380-square-foot mixed-use building coming to 2 Hudson Square. Located at the southeast corner of the neighborhood, the lot will soon house a public school with an office tower above for boutique finance and tech tenants. The 465-foot-tall, 26-story development is a joint venture between Taconic Investment Partners and Nuveen, after the pair acquired the land in a 99-year lease from Trinity Real Estate, the real estate branch of Trinity Church. SHoP Architects is responsible for the design.

The glass curtain wall of 202 Broome Street has reached the final setback of the 14-story mixed-use building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by CetraRuddy, the property will feature 175,000 square feet of Class A offices with a max of 13-foot-high ceilings, 34,500 square feet of retail space, 83 residential units, and a 9,000-square-foot indoor park and recreation area called Broome Street Gardens. The project is part of the six-acre Essex Crossing complex, which is being developed by Delancey Street AssociatesBFC Partners, L+M Development PartnersTaconic Investment PartnersThe Prusik Group, and Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group.

UPDATE: A source has informed YIMBY that the depicted design was created for the site’s previous owners by Ennead Architects, and is now out of date. The actual plans are unlikely to include a residential component.

After vainly attempting to stymy the rise of 200 Amsterdam Avenue through multiple frivolous lawsuits, the residents of the hulking and monolithically anti-urban Lincoln Towers may soon be reaping just karmic desserts, with an even taller neighbor now apparently in the works on their southern periphery. Preliminary renderings have been found for Taconic’s planned two-towered development at 125 West End Avenue, and if the first image of the project is any indicator, the larger of its two towers could steal 200 Amsterdam’s mantle as the tallest skyscraper on the Upper West Side.
