Today, YIMBY has a photo update on the site of the Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh. Foundation work is moving along for the soon-to-be 22-story residential building that will rise adjacent to the historic structure, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Permits have been filed by an anonymous LLC for a six-story residential building at 6 Havemeyer Street, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The development will be situated in the heart the neighborhood. McCarren Park is five blocks away, and the Brooklyn waterfront is also six avenues away. In terms of transit, the Metropolitan Avenue Subway Station is five blocks away, and the Bedford Avenue Subway Station is also only seven blocks away, with both stations serviced by the L train.
Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 20 Havemeyer Street, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The site would come to one of the more active areas of the neighborhood, near McCarren Park, and four blocks away from the Metropolitan Avenue subway station, serviced by the L and G trains. Being Williamsburg, plenty of nightlife and exciting restaurants are in the area. South Side Units will be responsible for the development.
The Landmark Preservation Commission has approved a new design for the Domino Sugar Factory Refinery building, which is being redeveloped by Two Trees Management Company, and designed by Vishaan Chakrabarti’s Practice for Architecture and Urbanism, aka PAU. The commission made no changes to the proposal, and Two Trees’ Managing Director David Lombino said “Thank you to the Landmarks Preservation Commission for engaging in a productive and thoughtful review, and for supporting this exciting new approach to making the Refinery building the centerpiece of the Domino redevelopment.”
Back in July of 2015, YIMBY reported on initial new building applications for 40 Debevoise Street, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Now, new permits have been pulled, indicating the site will grow substantially larger than first reported, with its height increasing from four floors to eight, and the total square footage roughly doubling.
