New 50-Story Tower Coming to 1780 First Avenue in Yorkville, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a new 50-story tower at 1780 First Avenue, in Yorkville, Manhattan, adjacent to where the New York City Housing Authority‘s John Haynes Holmes Towers currently stand. Located at the corner of 1st Avenue and East 93rd Street, the two buildings presently on the site were built in 1968 and have 537 units across 25 floors with a gross square footage of 386,322. The nearest transit access is two city blocks north at the 96th Street – 2nd Avenue station, courtesy of the N and Q trains.

Extell Files Demolition Permits For 1651 1st Avenue in Yorkville, Manhattan

Full demolition permits have been filed for the six-story brick building at 1651 1st Avenue in Yorkville, Manhattan. The current 62-foot tall structure has been used as walkup housing since 1920, with 16 residential units and two units uses as commercial space on the ground level. It is unclear what plans are in store for the 2,200 square foot lot as no new building permits have been filed. David Rothstein of Extell is listed as the owner of the site.

The plans include the demolition of six adjacent four-story buildings to make way for a fourteen-story assisted living facility at the corner of East 86th Street. The Engel Burman Group is responsible for the applications.

The site is just one block from Carl Schurz Park, home to the Gracie Mansion, the official home of the Mayor of New York City. Two avenues away is the 86th Street subway station, serviced by the N and Q trains. The Engel Burman Group is behind the applications.

Extell’s assemblage between East 79th and East 80th Streets in Yorkville, Manhattan, is inching closer to reality, with demolition permits now pulled for the bulk of the extant structures. The mixed-use, residential buildings set to meet the wrecking ball include addresses 1514 though 1528 First Avenue.

20 East End Avenue’s Façade Nears Completion on Upper East Side

When we last checked in on the Robert A.M. Stern Architects-designed condominium building under construction at 20 East End Avenue, between East 80^th and 81^st streets in the Yorkville section of the Upper East Side, it had just topped out. That was back in November. Since then, as we can see in photos from our friend Tectonic, the façade is nearly finished.

Renovations Planned at 37-Story, 265-Unit Rental Tower at 1735 York Avenue, Upper East Side

Earlier this month, Bonjour Capital entered into contract to purchase, for roughly $140 million, the 37-story, 265-unit rental apartment tower at 1735 York Avenue, located on the corner of East 90th Street, in the Yorkville section of the Upper East Side. The future owner is planning to renovate and rebrand the residential tower, currently dubbed the Hamilton, as the Serrano. Renderings of the renovation have now been revealed by The Real Deal. It appears upgrades will be made to the lobby and the amenity areas. Existing amenities in the 280,0000square-foot building include tenant services, a fitness center, an outdoor patio, a rooftop deck, a children’s playroom, and a greenhouse. Bonjour Capital recently secured $104 million in financing for the acquisition. The tower was built in 1986 by Glenwood Management.

Related Companies’ luxury rental development at 205 East 92nd Street, in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Carnegie Hill, is set for occupancy in May. Now, we have a new renderings, both exterior and interior, of the coming development, now dubbed The Easton. If the address sounds familiar, the building used to be known as the Henley.

Permits Filed For Lightstone’s 18-Story Residential Building At 40 East End Avenue, Yorkville

Back in June, YIMBY reported on the Lightstone Group’s acquisition of the six-story building at 40 East End Avenue, at East 81st Street in Yorkville. Permits were filed at the end of October with a support of excavation filing on Friday, and now new details can be reported. The plan is still demolition of the existing building in favor of an 18-story building, rising to 210 feet. The plan reported in June called for 30 condominium units, but the filing shows 29 units.
