New York State Announces $35 Million in Construction Financing to Facilitate Supportive Housing Developments

The State of New York has announced a sixth round of funding for the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative, an ambitious plan to create or preserve over 100,000 affordable and at least 6,000 supportive housing units. For this round, the state will release $35 million in financing aimed at creating at least 1,400 supportive housing units.

Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Lemor Development Group and Apex Building Group, the structure also yields a tech incubator space managed by non-profit Silicon Harlem, ground-floor commercial space, and community facility space. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 32 units for residents at 30 to 100 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $0 to $148,000.

Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Azimuth Development Group, the structure yields 312,880 square feet for 326 residences, amenities, parking, ground-floor retail, and space for the Bronx Pentecostal Deliverance center. Grace Baptist Church to Build a 14-Story Mixed-Use Affordable Housing Building in Mount Vernon

The Grace Baptist Church has big plans for the adjacent empty lot at Sixth Avenue and Second Street in Mount Vernon. Proposals are in the works for a 14-story building known as The Grace, yielding 267 apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom units, parking below grade for 130 vehicles, ground-floor space for church conference rooms, and a catering hall. SLCE Architects is responsible for the design.
