601 West 29th Street Tops Out, Will Bring 200+ Affordable Housing Units to Hudson Yards, Manhattan

This week Douglaston Development announced the topping out of 601 West 29th Street, a mixed-use residential tower that will bring 703 market-rate and 235 affordable housing residences to West Chelsea. The 60-story skyscraper encompasses an entire block on 11th Avenue from West 29th to West 30th Streets on the border of West Chelsea and Hudson Yards. In addition to the 938 rentals, components include over 50,000 square feet of amenity space and 15,000 square feet of retail space. FXCollaborative is responsible for the design of the 695-foot-tall building, with Levine Builders handling construction.

A recently published Environmental Assessment Statement has revealed Halletts North, a 1-million-square-foot development at the waterfront edge of Astoria, Queens. If the required zoning amendments are approved, the building will house a mix of market-rate and income-restricted apartments, retail space, and a community facility. The scope of construction also includes 525 parking spaces and over 41,000 square feet of publicly accessible area.
