Wood frame houses and vacant lots are slowly giving way to new construction on the short blocks between Bushwick Avenue and Broadway in southern Bushwick. Today, we have a look at one of those new developments – a four-story building planned for 30 Belvedere Street.
East Flatbush is quickly becoming a hotbed for small developers looking for relatively cheap land and generous zoning. Two houses there, across from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, may bite the dust for a seven-story mixed-use building.
It’s been a few months since we last checked in on the Robert A.M. Stern Architects-designed 116-unit residential project going up at 220 Central Park South. Back in February, the tower portion had risen to about 15 stories. Now, as seen in photos supplied to YIMBY by photographer Tectonic, the tower has risen past 25 stories, on its way to 70, with more of the Alabama Silver Shadow limestone cladding in place.
A 34-story, mixed-use tower is coming to the corner of 27th Street and Third Avenue in Kips Bay, on the east side of Manhattan. New building applications filed yesterday reveal that the development will rise 388 feet into the air and fill most of the block between 26th and 27th streets.
Youngwoo and Associates is planning an ambitious commercial project on the eastern edge of Washington Heights. Yesterday, the firm filed plans to develop a two-tower, 18-story hotel and office building at 2420 Amsterdam Avenue, next to the Harlem River Drive and Highbridge Park.
