The glassy towers of North Williamsburg are slowly giving way to a more interesting wave of development on the south side of the neighborhood. Today, YIMBY has a look at a pair of connected mixed-use buildings at 69 Hope Street and 22-26 Marcy Avenue, right next to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.
In the fall of 2015, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission held a series of four special public hearings to deal with its backlog of 95 items that have been on its calendar since before 2010. Now, the next step, a public meeting, will be held on Tuesday, February 23.
When we last checked in on 267 Rogers Avenue in southern Crown Heights, the planned five-story rental building was barely more than a hole in the ground. Now walls are up, and the building has finally started to take shape.
Back in May of 2015, YIMBY posted renderings from SLCE Architects featuring the Robert A.M. Stern Architects-designed 220 Central Park South. Since then, construction on the building has made major headway, with the structure now reaching past its tenth floor, and now we can post the building’s final look, thanks to an ad placed by developer Vornado in REBNY’s new booklet.
We last checked on the condominium development at 172 Madison Avenue, at the northwest corner of East 33rd Street in Midtown East, only two weeks ago. Since then, the building has grown in height – from 28 stories to 29 – and more glass has been installed. And now we have a sneak peek at the views from the soon-to-be 33-story building.
