Now the same developer is back at it just a few blocks south, and he’s filed new building applications for a four-story residential project at 157 Erasmus Street, between Rogers and Nostrand avenues in Flatbush.
Washington Square Partners and Acadia Realty Trust want to build a 23-story apartment building at 4650 Broadway, right next to Fort Tryon Park and the Cloisters in Washington Heights. But first, they need a major upzoning from the city. YIMBY uncovered renderings of what the 500,000-square-foot tower could look like in newly posted zoning documents.
A synagogue whose structure served varied purposes before becoming a house of worship will be getting a somewhat unusual expansion and facelift. On Tuesday, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved a proposal from the Conservative Synagogue of Fifth Avenue, located at 11 East 11th Street, between Fifth Avenue and University Place in Greenwich Village.
Developers are always looking further east and south for cheap property in Brooklyn, and a combination of generous zoning and inexpensive land have encouraged several new residential projects in East Flatbush. One of those developments is set to rise at 309 Lenox Road, between Nostrand and New York Avenues.

Now the project has moved one step closer to reality, because Hudson Companies has filed building applications for a 36-story tower at 1 Clinton Street.
