Two years ago, Barnard College announced its plans to demolish its library, Lehman Hall, and build an 11-story teaching and learning center in its place. Now the women’s college has filed applications for a 12-story building at 32 Claremont Avenue, mid-block between 116th and 119th Streets.
Earlier this week, we posted photos of work at 217 West 57th Street as viewed from the street level, and now we have a fresh set of overhead shots from reader Andrew McKeon, featuring both 220 Central Park South and 217 West 57th Street. And when comparing with the last set of similar shots from February, progress has been very significant.
After more than three years of construction, Stawski Group’s sleek condos at 27 Wooster Street in Soho are almost complete. Tectonic stopped by the site earlier this week and snapped these shots of the new building on the corner of Grand Street.
Last week, Andres Azpurua’s Onsite Project Consulting filed plans for a little condo project at 650 Metropolitan Avenue, a block from the Lorimer Street L stop in Williamsburg. Now we have a rendering for the six-story development that will rise between Leonard Street and Manhattan Avenue.
Williamsburg’s ongoing development boom is stretching across all parts of the neighborhood, and includes everything from apartments to hotels and office buildings. But smaller infill is just as important in terms of rounding out the pedestrian realm, and now we have renderings of plans for an old warehouse at 120 North 6th Street, which Kenneth Park Architects will transform into both retail and office space.
