The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has revealed the first of two new affordable housing properties in the southwest corner of The Bronx. Located in Concourse near the intersection of River Avenue and East 168th Street, Site A will eventually debut as River Commons and will comprise 278 affordable apartments.
Permits have been filed for a 12-story mixed-use building at 832 Rutland Road in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of East 49th Street and Rutland Road, the lot is near the Sutter Avenue – Rutland Road subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, and 4 trains. Brookdale Hospital Medical Center is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Type A Real Estate Advisors and JASA recently completed a new affordable housing development at 1490 Southern Boulevard in The Bronx. The 100-percent affordable project is located in the borough’s Charlotte Gardens neighborhood and comprises 114 units for households making up to 50 percent area median income (AMI). Thirty percent of the units will be set aside formerly homeless older adults.
A new environmental assessment statement includes the first preliminary renderings of a 101,000-square-foot mixed-use development along the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn. Submitted as 300 Huntington Street, the proposed development sits on the border of the Carroll Gardens and Gowanus neighborhoods and comprises an assemblage of four adjacent lots.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 35-01 Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, Queens. Located at the intersection of Beach 35 Street and Beach Channel Drive, the corner lot is one block from the Beach 36 Street-Edgemere subway station, serviced by the A train.
