Full renderings have surfaced for Extell’s 22-story, 114-unit development currently under construction at 70 Charlton Street, in Hudson Square. The project includes two buildings conjoined at the base, with street frontage on Charlton and Vandam streets; together, they will have 92 condos and 22 affordable rental units, according to The New York Times.

Last summer, YIMBY brought you renderings of 215 Chrystie Street, a 28-story, 370-hotel-room mixed-use tower now under construction on the Lower East Side. According to Bowery Boogie, concrete and rebar are up to the second floor. Ian Schrager and Witkoff are developing, and Herzog & de Meuron is the design architect. Completion is scheduled for late 2016.
YIMBY first reported on new building permits for 1681 Third Avenue last November, when Extell filed a new job application for the site, located between East 94th and 95th Streets on the Upper East Side. We now have the reveal for the condominium tower coming to the lot, which is substantially taller than the 23-story building indicated in the first DOB filings.
The site at 70 Charlton Street in Hudson Square has seen several proposed configurations, but it appears that Extell has finally settled on two 21-story towers as depicted in the most recent zoning diagrams, which are now accompanied by renderings from the project’s teaser website.
