55-Unit Modular Building Under Construction At 335 East 27th Street, Kips Bay

YIMBY brought you news in December of 2013 regarding Monadnock’s planned nine-story, 55-unit residential building at 335 East 27th Street, in Kips Bay. Now, Curbed reports the first of 66 modules has been lifted into place. Construction will last through the summer, and completion is expected in October or November. nARCHITECTS is designing, and 22 units are being set aside as affordable.


50 Oak Point Avenue

Cement Distrubution Facility Coming To 50 Oak Point Avenue, Port Morris, South Bronx

Oak Point Property LLC has filed applications for a single-story, 60-foot-tall cement distribution facility at 50 Oak Point Avenue, in Port Morris. The Bronx facility will measure nearly 75,600 square feet, and EDG Consulting Engineers is the architect of record. The property is currently vacant and is adjacent to the East River and the railroad tracks.



1959 University Avenue

New 10,000 Square-Foot Retail Building Filed For 1959 University Avenue, University Heights

Sopher Realty has filed applications for a single-story, 9,745 square-foot commercial-retail building spanning the lots at 1953-1965 University Avenue, in University Heights. Howell Belanger Castelli Architects is designing, and the existing single-story retail structure most recently passed pre-demolition inspection late in March. The site’s current structure was involved in a fire late last year, according to DNAinfo.


35-02 Northern Boulevard

Two-Story Building At 35-02 Northern Boulevard Marketed As Development Site, Long Island City

According to The Real Deal, the owners of the two-story commercial building at 35-02 Northern Boulevard, in northern Long Island City, are looking to sell the property as a development site for $30 million. Ariel Property Advisors is marketing the property, and the land boasts 145,000 square feet of building potential. Zoning accommodates for a mix of commercial uses with retail at street level.
