Twin Two-Story, Two-Family Houses Coming to 47-27 Bowne Street, East Flushing

A Flushing-based property owner has filed applications for twin two-story, two-family houses at 47-25 and 47-27 Bowne Street, in East Flushing. The buildings will measure 2,493 square feet each, and across both, the residential units should average 807 square feet apiece. There will also be a total of four off-street parking spaces, two of which will be housed in separate, 190-square-foot garages. Edward C. Lui’s Little Neck-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The 50-foot-wide, 4,750-square-foot plot is occupied by a two-story house. Demolition permits were filed in April.


Bushwick Inlet Park

City to Acquire CitiStorage Site at 5 North 11th Street for Bushwick Inlet Park, Williamsburg

Earlier this year, the city paid $53 million to acquire the property at 1 North 12th Street, located between North 12th and 14th streets along Kent Avenue on the border of Greenpoint and Williamsburg, with plans to convert the site into public park space. The city has now agreed to pay $160 million for the 11-acre CitiStorage site, located between North 10th and 12th streets at 5 North 11th Street, Crain’s reported.

Renovation Project Underway On 41-Story Mixed-Use Tower At 3 Park Avenue, Midtown South

The 41-story, 977,745-square-foot mixed-use tower known as 3 Park Avenue, located between East 33rd and 34th streets in Midtown South, is set to receive a $30 million renovation. The 556-foot-tall tower’s lobby will be redesigned, the exterior will be modernized, and its 25,000 square feet of retail will see renovations. Other aspects of the project include renovations to the hallways and common areas, and upgraded mechanical infrastructure, Commercial Observer reported. Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects is designing the renovation, with AREA Architects responsible for redesigning the lobby.


35-48 32nd Street

Four-Story, Three-Unit Mixed-Use Project Planned At 35-48 32nd Street, Astoria

Long Island City-based Bayside Contracting has filed applications for a four-story, three-unit mixed-use building at 35-48 32nd Street, on the southern end of Astoria. The project will measure 3,068 square feet, including 1,331 square feet of ground-floor retail space, followed by three residential units across the floors above. The full-floor apartments should average 579 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. Joseph Sultana’s Bayside-based JLS Designs is the architect of record. The 25-foot-wide, 2,500-square-foot lot is occupied by a three-story townhouse. Demolition permits have not been filed.


212 Nippon Avenue

Two Three-Story, Two-Family Houses Coming To 212 Nippon Avenue, Woodrow, Staten Island

A Staten Island-based property owner has filed applications for two three-story, two-family houses at 212-216 Nippon Avenue, located on the corner of Ionia Avenue in Woodrow, a neighborhood along Staten Island’s South Shore. The buildings will measure 5,334 square feet and 3,343 square feet each, respectively. Across both, the residential units should average a family-sized 1,500 square feet apiece. Both will also have three off-street parking spaces each, one of which will be enclosed on the ground floor. Joseph M. Morace’s Staten Island-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The 10,000-square-foot plot was occupied by a two-story house until it was demolished over the summer.
