Brooklyn Point’s Facade Begins Rising as Superstructure Nears Halfway Mark in Downtown Brooklyn

The soon-to-be tallest skyscraper in Brooklyn is now on the verge of truly towering heights. Since YIMBY last visited Brooklyn Point, the concrete has risen 20 additional floors above street level. The installation of several segments of the façade has added another new element, offering a glimpse at the glass and white paneling soon to dominate the borough’s skyline, at least until 9 DeKalb’s imminent rise nearby. Extell is responsible for the development.

Sales Gallery Images Revealed, Construction Update for Soon-To-Be Tallest Building in Brooklyn

Construction at Extell’s 138 Willoughby, aka Brooklyn Point, is moving along quickly, with concrete now at the tenth floor. Once opened, the skyscraper will complete the City Point mega-development in Downtown Brooklyn. The mixed-use multi-building expansion has already produced two residential towers and a 600,000 square foot retail space with a food market, grocery store, event space, and movie theater.

Western Hemisphere’s Highest Rooftop Infinity Pool Coming to Extell’s Brooklyn Point, Downtown Brooklyn

Renderings have been revealed for the rooftop recreation terrace on top of Brooklyn Point, located at 138 Willoughby Street, in Downtown Brooklyn. Swimmers will be able to look over the East River to Downtown and Midtown Manhattan, and once complete, it will be the highest residential infinity pool in the Western Hemisphere. The tower rises up 720 feet, nearly a hundred feet higher than the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and its rooftop pool in Singapore. Matthews Nielsen Landscape Architects will be responsible for the site, which also includes a sundeck, outdoor dining area, changing room and showers, and outdoor movie screening space.

Exclusive New Renderings for Extell’s Brooklyn Point, 138 Willoughby Street, Downtown Brooklyn

Two months ago, YIMBY featured a new set of exterior renderings for Brooklyn Point, which is Extell’s first skyscraper in the Outer Boroughs. It will soon begin rising at 138 Willoughby Street, and will temporarily become the tallest tower in Downtown Brooklyn. Now, we have an exclusive first look at interior renderings for the project’s condominiums, which are being designed by Katherine Newman.
