Renderings Revealed for 1673 Ocean Avenue, Midwood, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 1673 Ocean Avenue, in Midwood, Brooklyn, which YIMBY can also reveal today. The site is seven blocks away from the Avenue M Subway Station, serviced by the Q train. The predominantly residential neighborhood is no stranger to developments of this height, especially along Ocean Avenue, but surrounding blocks are mainly populated with detached 2-3 story homes. ZHL Group is responsible for the development.

NYC’s First Whole Foods Market 365 Opening in January at 300 Ashland Place, Fort Greene, Brooklyn

The completion of Two Trees’ tower at 300 Ashland Place has opened several opportunities for new retail in the neighborhood, and within the new storefronts, New York City’s first Whole Foods Market 365 is expected to open on Wednesday, January 31^st. The grocery store is an offshoot of its parent company, and will feature cheaper prices with competitive selections marketed towards budget-conscious families, students, and commuters. The location is officially Fort Greene, Brooklyn, but it sits very close to Downtown Brooklyn.

Exclusive New Renderings for Extell’s Brooklyn Point, 138 Willoughby Street, Downtown Brooklyn

Two months ago, YIMBY featured a new set of exterior renderings for Brooklyn Point, which is Extell’s first skyscraper in the Outer Boroughs. It will soon begin rising at 138 Willoughby Street, and will temporarily become the tallest tower in Downtown Brooklyn. Now, we have an exclusive first look at interior renderings for the project’s condominiums, which are being designed by Katherine Newman.

The project will rise two blocks away from the Flatbush Avenue Subway Station, the end of the line for the 2 and 5 trains, and three blocks away from the Brooklyn College campus. Y & G Realty NY will be responsible for the development.

Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 3120 Glenwood Road, in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. The site is three blocks away from the Flatbush Avenue Subway Station, end of the line for the 2 and 5 trains, and that avenue’s intersection with Nostrand Avenue, a major commercial focal point attracting the likes of Modell’s and Target.

SHoP Architects has submitted applications for a major new project at 1508 Coney Island Avenue, in Midwood, Brooklyn. The 10-story mixed-use high-rise will be situated on the major commercial thoroughfare of the area. Eight blocks away is the Avenue M Subway Station, serviced by the Q trains. It should be noted that the project is not close the Coney Island beach boardwalk, which is over four miles away.

Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 1663 East New York Avenue, in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The project would replace an undeveloped lot used for glass and car repairs. The Broadway Junction Subway Stations are seven blocks away, serviced by the A, C, J, L, M, and Z trains. The East New York Train Station is four blocks away, serviced by the Long Island Railroad. Like Minded People LLC, based in Forest Hills, Queens, is responsible for development.

The site is six blocks away from the Beverly Road/Nostrand Avenue Subway Station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. The nearest commercial avenue, Flatbush Avenue, is eight blocks away. David Azour will be responsible for the development.

The development will rise eleven blocks from the Kings Highway Subway Station, serviced by the B and Q trains, and twelve blocks away from the Avenue P Subway Station, serviced by the F train. The closest major commercial thoroughfare, Coney Island Avenue, is three blocks away. Jack Braha will be responsible for the project.

Leasing Begins for 280 Ashland Place, Downtown Brooklyn

As YIMBY reported back in October, construction is nearly complete for the 12-story 280 Ashland Place, in the Downtown Cultural District of Brooklyn, and now, leasing has officially commenced. The project has been named Caesura, a term for the pause in the middle of a line of music poetry. Its next-door neighbor, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, gives the inspiration. Jonathan Rose Companies LLC is behind the building, which had previously gone by the address of 15 Lafayette Avenue.
