Six-Story, 10-Unit Mixed-Use Building Filed At 2213 65th Street, Mapleton

Brooklyn-based David Ogorek has filed applications for a six-story, 10-unit mixed-use building at 2213 65th Street, in Mapleton, located a block from the Bay Parkway stop on the N train. The project will encompass 16,033 square feet and will include 2,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor for retail and offices. Residential units will begin on the second floor and should average a relatively spacious 1,000 square feet apiece. Manuel Pereiras’ Union City, New Jersey-based Pereiras Architects Ubiquitous is the architect of record. The 40-foot-wide site is currently home to a single-story restaurant.



New Lab

50,000 Square-Foot ‘New Lab’ Office Building To Open This Summer at Brooklyn Navy Yard

The city has announced it will open two business hubs totaling 100,000 square feet this summer as part of its UrbanTech NYC program, according to Crain’s. One of them will be a 50,000 square-foot building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, dubbed New Lab. The facility, which is currently being renovated, will offer affordable commercial rents to companies in search of office and/or manufacturing space. The other 50,000 square-foot location is at Grand Central Terminal, and companies will have to apply and then be selected to lease space. Macro Sea is developing – and designing in-house – the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s facility, and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is behind the initiative.

Five-Story, Six-Unit Mixed-Use Building Filed At 1138 Manhattan Avenue, Greenpoint

Property owner Tahira Chaudhry has filed applications for a five-story, six-unit mixed-use building at 1138 Manhattan Avenue, in northern Greenpoint, located at the corner of Box Street. It will encompass 9,648 square feet and will feature 1,180 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Residential units will begin on the second floor and should average 995 square feet apiece. There will be two units per floor on floors two and three, another unit on part of the fourth floor, and a duplex units on the rest of the fourth floor and the entire fifth floor. Fresh Meadows-based Jamil Coppin is the architect of record. An existing three-story townhouse must first be demolished.
