Office Conversion Underway At 14 53rd Street, Seven-Story Industrial Building In Sunset Park

Madison Realty Capital has closed on the seven-story, 400,000 square-foot industrial building at 14 53rd Street, in Sunset Park on the waterfront, for $82.5 million, according to Crain’s. The building, located four long-blocks from the R train’s 53rd Street stop, is being renovated to accommodate office and manufacturing tenants. The renovations will include exterior and interior upgrades, as well as a roof deck.


140 15th Street

11-Story, 30-Unit Mixed-Use Building Planned At 140 15th Street, South Slope

In December, an 11-story, 30-unit mixed-use building was filed at 140 15th Street, in South Slope, but was lost in the flood of other projects being filed before the year’s end. Then YIMBY revealed renderings of the project in May. Filings have not been approved yet by the DOB, but Boaz Gilad, the developer, is still actively filing for permits. The 36,747 square-foot building will feature 4,948 square feet on the ground floor for two retail units, and the residential units above will average 1,062 square feet. Feingold & Gregory Architects is the applicant of record. Demolition permits were filed in 2014 to remove two three-story townhouses and a retail building.

Seven-Story, 32-Unit Building Underway At 1255 Bushwick Avenue, Bushwick

Roughly a year ago, YIMBY reported on filings calling for a seven-story, 32-unit residential building at 1255 Bushwick Avenue, in southern Bushwick, and now construction is beginning at the site, where only the façade of the former church stands. According to Brownstoner, the building will measure 21,897 square feet, so units will average a condo-sized 1,368 square feet. Brookland Capital is developing, while Issac & Stern Architects is designing.

Six-Story, 23-Unit Residential Project Tops Out At 95 South 5th Street, Williamsburg

In October of 2014, YIMBY revealed renderings of the six-story, 23-unit mixed-use building planned at 95 South 5th Street, in western Williamsburg, and now the building is topped out, according to Curbed. Horrigan Development and Pilot Real Estate Group are developing the project, while Standard Architects is designing. A 675 square-foot dining establishment is planned on the ground floor, and units will average 790 square feet in the 18,575 square-foot structure.
