The Benson Completes Construction at 1045 Madison Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Exterior work is complete on The Benson, an 18-story condominium building at 1045 Madison Avenue in the Carnegie Hill section of the Upper East Side. Designed by Peter Pennoyer and developed by The Naftali Group, the 210-foot-tall structure will yield 16 residential units spread across 59,032 square feet, as well as 3,993 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The majority of the units feature full-floor layouts, and three penthouses are positioned on the upper levels. Leeding Builders Group is the general contractor of the property, which is located between East 79th and East 80th Streets, a short walk from Central Park.

Construction is wrapping up on The Benson, an 18-story condominium building at 1045 Madison Avenue in the Carnegie Hill section of the Upper East Side. Designed by Peter Pennoyer and developed by The Naftali Group, the 210-foot-tall reinforced concrete structure will yield 16 residential units spread across 59,032 square feet, for an average of 3,700 square feet apiece, as well as 3,993 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The inventory of homes includes three penthouses, and the majority of the units feature full-floor layouts. Construction is complete on 1228 Madison Avenue, a 20-story residential building in the Carnegie Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and developed by CBSK Ironstate, a partnership of CB Developers, SK Development, and Ironstate, the structure will yield 15 condominiums designed by Kelly Behun Studio with sales handled by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. SLCE Architects was the architect of record for the project, which is located along Madison Avenue between East 88th and 89th Streets, directly behind Frank Lloyd Wright’s Guggenheim Museum.

Full demolition permits have been filed for 150 East 91st Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Located between Lexington and Third Avenues, the 5,033-square-foot site was acquired by Redeemer Presbyterian Church last year for $29.5 million.

International gallerist Salon 94 has partnered with Rafael Viñoly Architects to convert and expand the National Academy Museum’s former Upper East Side headquarters into a new gallery, research center, and residence. Located at 3 East 89th Street in Carnegie Hill, any alterations to the landmarked building require explicit approvals from the Landmarks Preservation Commission.

Construction is getting close to topping out on 1230 Madison Avenue, a Robert A.M. Stern Architects-designed residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The reinforced concrete superstructure has risen quickly since YIMBY’s early February update and will soon reach its 208-foot pinnacle. Developed by Real Estate Equities Corporation with SLCE Architects as the architect of record, the 20-story project is located in the neighborhood of Carnegie Hill on the same parcel as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
