Compass Announces Sale of Major Mixed Use Development Site in St. George, in Staten Island

YIMBY has word that The Joe Tirone Team, an affiliated brokerage group under the Compass umbrella, completed the sale of three adjoining lots that were identified as “Projected Development Site 2” in a proposal to City Planning by Madison Realty Capital late last year. That parcel was envisioned to give rise to a 117,848-square-foot, mixed use building. Madison owns, and will develop, “Projected Development Site 1” in their River North proposal, a multi-faceted mixed-use complex under city review that was formerly known as Liberty Towers, in Staten Island‘s St. George neighborhood.

Madison Realty Capital has begun construction on a new mixed-use complex located near the southern boundary of Woodside, Queens. HAP Investments has unveiled updates for a new high-rise residential building in Jersey City. Located at 500 Summit Avenue, the building will eventually tower 42 stories above the Journal Square section of the city and comprise 902 rental apartments.

The Department of Buildings has awarded Norman Foster’s 425 Park Avenue a temporary certificate of occupancy, or TCO, signaling imminent completion of the commercial skyscraper in Midtown East. From developers L&L Holding Company, Tokyu Land Corporation, and co-managing partner BentallGreenOak, the 47-story office tower comprises around 667,000 square feet.

Renderings from Studios Architecture reveal a new rooftop pavilion and extensive updates to the building’s facade at each elevation along Fifth Avenue, 17th Street, and 18th Street.
