Trader Joe’s will soon open a new grocery store in Harlem, the chain’s first location in Upper Manhattan. The store will occupy 28,000 square feet of ground-floor space of the forthcoming Urban League Empowerment Center at 121 West 125th Street.
A new rendering has been revealed for 2500 Barker Avenue, a seven-story mixed-use building under construction in the Allerton neighborhood of The Bronx. Designed by J Frankl Associates, the 74-foot-tall building will yield 48,452 square feet, with just under 36,000 square feet of residential area and about 12,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.
Following years of dispute and litigation, the Jersey City Planning Board has officially granted Kushner Companies necessary approvals to begin construction on One Journal Square, a two-skyscraper complex in downtown Jersey City. Designed by Woods Bagot, the buildings will comprise 2 million square feet and stand 710 feet tall.
Permits have been filed for a 21-story mixed-use office tower at 358 Bowery in Noho, Manhattan. Located at the intersection of East 4th Street and Bowery, the corner lot is near the Bleeker Street subway station, serviced by the 6 train, and Broadway-Lafayette Street station, serviced by B, D, F, and M trains. SK Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Renderings from Gertler & Wente Architects reveal a nine-story mixed-use building at 52 Fourth Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Located at the corner of Dean Street in the heart of the neighborhood’s buzzing retail corridor, the 55,000-square-foot structure will yield 52 rental apartments as well as ground-floor commercial space.
