Demolition Finishes at 1357 Second Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Demolition is wrapping up at 1357 Second Avenue, the site of a 21-story residential building in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed by The Chetrit Group, which purchased the property for $47.2 million in 2018, the 230-foot-tall structure will yield 54 apartments spread across 150,000 square feet and 5,700 square feet of commercial space. The development also includes a four-story, 40-foot-tall annex that will yield an additional inventory of affordable housing units. CF East 72 Owner LLC is the owner and RIG Kingland Services is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Second Avenue and East 72nd Street.

The Plains Affordable Housing Project Tops Out at 4519 White Plains Road in Wakefield, The Bronx

Construction has topped out on The Plains, a nine-story mixed-income residential property at 4519 White Plains Road in the Wakefield section of The Bronx. Led by developers The Doe Fund and Robert Sanborn Development, the building will contain 98 deeply affordable homes, 20 apartments reserved for tenants 62 and older, and on-site supportive housing for 49 formerly homeless adults living with disabilities.

Excavation Begins for Rolex Headquarters Tower at 665 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

Excavation is underway for the new Rolex headquarters, a 28-story commercial building at 665 Fifth Avenue in Midtown. Designed by David Chipperfield Architects and developed by the Rolex Realty Company, the 419-foot-tall structure will yield 199,000 square feet of office and retail space for the world-famous watchmaker. Pavarini McGovern is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 53rd Street.

135 East 47th Street, aka Monogram New York, Progresses With Facade Installation, in Midtown East, Manhattan

Façade installation is progressing on 135 East 47th Street, a 35-story residential skyscraper, named Monogram New York, in Midtown East. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Navigation Capital Group, the 500-foot-tall structure will yield 191 condominium units in studio to two-bedroom layouts, as well as 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Cauldwell Wingate is in charge of constructing the tower, which is located between Lexington and Third Avenues. Anthology Group is the hospitality partner, while Shanghai-based Neri & Hu is the interior designer.

Excavation Progresses at 126 East 57th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan

Excavation is progressing at 126 East 57th Street, the site of a 28-story residential building on Billionaires’ Row in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by ODA Architecture and developed by MRR Development under the MRR 1326 LLC, the 346-foot-tall structure will yield 147 condominium units spread across 170,000 square feet with interiors by Gabellini Sheppard, as well as 5,000 square feet of lower-level retail space. WSP USA is the engineer and Plaza Buildings is the general contractor for the project, which is being constructed on an L-shaped parcel at the corner of East 56th Street and Lexington Avenue. The narrow panhandle section of the building’s footprint will extend north to East 57th Street. ODA is also in charge of designing the interiors.
