Construction is approaching the final floors at 249 East 50th Street, a 151-foot-tall residential building in Midtown East. The 15-story structure is designed by Issac and Stern and developed by Tun Kyaw, who purchased the land for $17 million.
The foundation work is underway at 308 Livingston Street, a 23-story, 160-unit rental building in Downtown Brooklyn. The project is designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture and is being developed by Lonicera Partners, which purchased the lot in May 2019 for $11 million and demolished several low-rise structures to clear the way for the new development.
Construction has topped out at 167 Willoughby Street, aka 112 Fleet Place, a 132-foot-tall residential building in Downtown Brooklyn. The 12-story structure is designed by Bricolage Design Associates and developed by Boomerang Building Fund, which purchased the lot for just over $4 million. Located at the corner of Willoughby Street and Fleet Place, just to the east of Flatbush Avenue and directly north of the Long Island University Brooklyn campus, the 2,425-square-foot project will bring 23 units to the neighborhood.
The reinforced concrete superstructure is rising at 61 DeKalb Avenue, aka One University Plaza, a 34-story Long Island University expansion in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by RXR Realty, the 435-foot-tall, 370,960-square-foot building is part of a new complex that includes an athletic field, fitness and wellness facilities, and additional academic space.
Work has been moving along quickly on the glass and brick curtain wall of One Willoughby Square, aka 420 Albee Square, a 495-foot-tall office skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by JEMB Realty, the 34-story reinforced concrete structure topped out last October and has since been rapidly enclosed in its blue-colored envelope. The project is the tallest new office building in Brooklyn and will yield 500,000 square feet of Class A office space. Gilbane Building Company is in charge of construction.
