Construction has wrapped up on 108 Chambers Street in Tribeca. The ground-up condominium project, now called “Tribeca Rogue,” is located on a narrow 1,963-square-foot lot at the corner of Church Street. All the scaffolding has now been removed and glass panels have replaced the orange construction netting found along the terrace railings. Designed by Woods Bagot Architects and developed by Greystone Development, the reinforced concrete structure contains eight full-floor residences and one- to three- bedroom homes that begin at $2.95 million. Ryan Serhant of The Serhant Team is in charge of sales and marketing, which launched earlier this year.
The Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation has announced a new name for Thomas Heatherwick’s 2.4-acre Chelsea park on Pier 55: “Little Island.” Work is continuing on the sculptural Hudson River promenade, and progress can be seen along Hudson River Park beyond the large steel frame of the old Cunard Pier 54. The funnel-shaped concrete pots are mostly in place, while a large amount of steel rebar and building materials are being laid on top. These will form the floor underneath a rolling terrain of landscaped hills, an amphitheater, and abundant greenery. The park is being built with a total of 132 piles that will hold each section 15 to 62 feet above sea level. Work is being managed by the Hudson River Park Trust (HRPT), and Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects, P.C. is designing the landscaping, which will have over 100 species of trees and shrubs.
Work has begun on the pilings for 601 West 29th Street, a 695-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards. Progress on the project, which is located at the corner of West 29th Street and Eleventh Avenue, has been swift since the lot was cleared and excavated over the summer. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Douglaston Development, the 58-story building is also known as Tower A in a two-building development on the parcel.
The reinforced concrete superstructure of 555 West 22nd Street has quickly reached the tenth floor in Chelsea, and work shows no signs of slowing down. These large lower floor plates take up nearly the entire span of the property, while the next 16 floors will be smaller and form the main tower. Robert A. M. Stern Architects is the designer and Related Companies is the developer of the 26-story condominium project. SLCE Architects is serving as the architect of record. This will become the second Chelsea residential project for Robert A.M. Stern’s design firm and will contain a total of 39 units, averaging around 2,245 square feet apiece.
The stone façade is continuing to ascend the twisting superstructures of The XI. The unique pair of reinforced concrete towers is designed by Bjarke Ingels of Bjarke Ingels Group and stands immediately to the west of the High Line in the Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea. The 36- and 26-story structures topped out in March and will contain 236 condominiums and a 137-room Six Senses Hotel Resorts Spas, the first location in the United States. HFZ Capital Group is the developer of the 908,250-square-foot project, while Omnibuild is in charge of the ongoing construction at 76 Eleventh Avenue. Douglas Elliman is handling sales and marketing for the residences.
