Nevins Street Apartments Nears Completion at 50 Nevins Street in Downtown Brooklyn

Construction is finishing up on The Nevins Street Apartments, a residential building at 50 Nevins Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Institute for Community Living (ICL), the project involved the gut renovation of a 95-year-old eight-story building and the construction of a ten-story volume along Schermerhorn Street that extends over the northeast corner of the original structure’s roof. The 114,000-square-foot property will yield 129 affordable apartments as well as mental health support services for low-income residents. Mega Contracting Group LLC is the general contractor and King Contracting Group built the masonry walls for the addition, which is located at the corner of Nevins and Schermerhorn Streets.

Façade installation is nearing completion on 58 Saint Marks Place, a 12-story residential building in Boerum HillBrooklyn. Designed by INC Architecture & Design with Isaac & Stern as the architect of record, and developed by Avdoo & Partners, the long rectangular structure will yield 100 units. LIC Corporation is the general contractor for the project, which spans nearly the the full length of the block bound by Fourth Avenue to the east, St. Mark’s Place to the north, and Willie McDonald Way to the south.

Virgin Hotel’s Exterior Wraps Up at 1225 Broadway in NoMad, Manhattan

Exterior work is finishing up on the Virgin Hotel, a 38-story tower at 1225 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec and developed by Lam Group, the 476-foot-tall, 300,000-square-foot structure will contain 460 hotel rooms managed by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group. Flintlock Construction Systems, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Broadway, West 29th Street, and West 30th Street.

Formerly addressed as 37 Sixth Avenue495 Dean Street, and 664 Pacific Street, the 209,451-square-foot reinforced concrete structure is designed by Marvel Architects and developed by The Brodsky Organization and yields 312 rental units. The development rises from a rectangular parcel bound by Sixth Avenue to the west, Dean Street to the south, and Pacific Street to the north.

Exterior work is wrapping up on 550 Clinton Avenue, a 29-story mixed-use project in Clinton HillBrooklyn. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Hope Street Capital, the 280,000-square-foot structure will yield 284 apartments and about 60,000 square feet of retail space. 550 Clinton Avenue is bound by Atlantic Avenue to the south, Clinton Avenue to the east, and Vanderbilt Avenue to the west.
