MGM Marin Boulevard Nears Completion at 331 Marin Boulevard in Jersey City, New Jersey

Construction is nearing completion on the MGM Marin Boulevard, a 41-story residential tower at 331 Marin Boulevard in downtown Jersey City‘s Powerhouse Arts District. Alternately addressed as 184 Morgan Street, the 400-foot-tall structure is designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve and developed by The Albanese Group and will yield 482 units, 121 parking spaces, a 125-seat theater, and 14,000 square feet of amenities. 331 Marin Boulevard is located directly to the south of 351 Marin Boulevard, another residential project under construction, and is bound by Marin Boulevard to the east, Morgan Street to the south, Grove Street to the west, and Bay Street to the north. Hatfield Group is the façade consultant.

601 West 29th Street Nears Completion in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Façade work is nearing completion on 601 West 29th Street, a 695-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards and number 19 on our year-end construction countdown. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Douglaston Development, the 60-story structure is also known as “Tower A” in a two-building development alongside 606 West 30th Street, which has yet to begin rising over Midtown, Manhattan. 601 West 29th Street will yield 703 market-rate and 235 affordable housing residences, 50,000 square feet of amenity space, and 15,000 square feet of retail space. Levine Builders is constructing the property, which is bound by Eleventh Avenue to the east, West 29th Street to the south, and West 30th Street to the north.

A new studio space for the 92nd Street Y (92Y) is opening in 180 East 88th Street, DDG’s completed 47-unit tower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Located in the ground-floor retail section facing Third Avenue, the space will host cultural programming and arts classes as part of Joe McMillan’s DDG and Global Holdings‘ philanthropic support for culture and social justice in New York City.

New Renderings of FXCollaborative’s Two-Tower Development at 495 Eleventh Avenue Revealed in Midtown West, Manhattan

At number 20 on our year-end countdown is a pair of mixed-use residential skyscrapers at 495 Eleventh Avenue in Midtown West, Manhattan. Designed by FXCollaborative with Gene Kaufman Architects as the architect of record, the 589,842-square-foot project consists of a 680-foot-tall, 57-story edifice paired with a slightly shorter 653-foot-tall, 56-story sibling that will rise along Eleventh Avenue between West 39th and West 40th Streets, next to the Jakob K. Javits Center. NYC Economic Development Corporation is listed as the owner behind the applications that were filed back in late October.

Construction And Window Installation Continues At 115 East 55th Street In Midtown East, Manhattan

Work is continuing to wrap up on 115 East 55th Street, an 18-story residential building in Midtown East. Designed by SLCE Architects for Zeckendorf Development, the 185-foot-tall reinforced concrete structure will yield 71,961 square feet and 58 units. CM& Associates Construction Management, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located on a relatively small site between Lexington and Park Avenues, directly to the east of Norman Foster’s 425 Park Avenue.
