Excavation Underway for SOM’s 941-Foot-Tall 625 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn

Excavation work has begun at 625 Fulton Street, site of a proposed 941-foot tall, 79-story mixed-use skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Rabsky Group, which purchased the site for $158 million, the 1.8-million-square-foot project is planned to yield a mix of offices, residential units, retail space, an elementary school, and a public plaza. The property is located between Fulton Street to the south, Hudson Avenue to the west, DeKalb Avenue to the north, and Rockwell Place to the east.

249 East 50th Street’s Exterior Continues to Take Shape in Turtle Bay, Manhattan

Façade installation is continuing on 249 East 50th Street, a 15-story residential building in the Midtown East neighborhood of  Turtle Bay. Designed by Issac & Stern Architects and developed by Tun Kyaw, the 151-foot-tall structure will yield 29 condominium units spread across 50,000 square feet, for an average of 1,700 square feet each. 249 East 50th Street is located near the corner of East 50th Street and Second Avenue.

One Willoughby Square’s Exterior Nears Completion in Downtown Brooklyn

Exterior work is getting closer to completion on One Willoughby Square, a 495-foot-tall commercial skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Alternately addressed as 420 Albee Square, the 36-story structure is designed by FXCollaborative for JEMB Realty and will yield 500,000 square feet of Class A office space. One Willoughby Square is set to open as the tallest new office building in Brooklyn and is bound by Albee Square West to the east, Willoughby Street to the north, and Duffield Street to the west. Gilbane Building Company is in charge of construction for the project.

Olympia Passes Halfway Mark at 30 Front Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Construction has passed the halfway mark on Olympia, a 26-story mixed-use residential building at 30 Front Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Developed by Fortis Property Group and designed by Hill West Architects with Workstead handling interiors, the 270-foot-tall structure will yield 76 condominium units. A new teaser site has also been revealed for the property, which is bound by Front Street to the north, Washington Street to the east, and York Street to the south.

The Benson’s Limestone Façade Nears Pinnacle at 1045 Madison Avenue in Carnegie Hill, Manhattan

Exterior work is shaping up on The Benson, an 18-story condominium building at 1045 Madison Avenue in the Carnegie Hill section of the Upper East Side. Designed by Peter Pennoyer and developed by The Naftali Group, the 210-foot-tall structure will yield 16 residential units spread across 59,032 square feet, for an average of 3,700 square feet apiece, as well as 3,993 square feet of ground-floor retail. There will be three penthouses, and the majority of the homes will be full-floor layouts. The property is located between East 79th and East 80th Streets, a short walk from Central Park.
