Earlier this fall, YIMBY checked in on the Robert A.M. Stern Architects-designed 250 West 81st Street as it was just climbing above street level, at West 81st Street and Broadway, on the Upper West Side. New renderings for the project have since appeared, giving a substantially better view of what the classically-minded new development will look like, and the pace of construction has also picked up, as per the latest photos from Chused.
Ground was broken at 2865 Creston Avenue yesterday to mark the beginning of construction on Bedford Green House, a 13-story supportive and affordable housing project in The Bronx’s Bedford Park neighborhood. The development is expected to cost $58.8 million, with almost half financed by the New York City Housing Development Corporation, HDC, under their Extremely Low- and Low-Income Affordability (ELLA) program.
Construction is wrapping on a nine-story affordable housing project, named Excelsior II, at 120 West 169th Street, in The Bronx’s Highbridge. YIMBY covered the rendering reveal for this site in 2014, and the project is expected to be complete before the end of this month. Highbridge Community Development Corporation is responsible for the development, and the Briarwood Organization is handling general contracting.
The last time YIMBY checked in on The Lightstone Group’s 130 William Street back in August, excavation work was still underway, as the exteriors of neighboring buildings were also being faced in a protective covering. Now, per the latest from rbrome, concrete trucks have arrived on-site, as foundation work has also started, signaling that the soon-to-be 800′ tower is about to start rising.
YIMBY has an update on construction for 207 West 79th Street, a 13-story residential building on the Upper West Side. Our last report on the site’s progress in September of 2016 showed construction had just reached the seventh floor, with no façade installation underway. The site is just an Avenue away from the American Natural History Museum, and two Avenues away from Central Park. There is close access to the 1, 2, A, B, and C trains by foot.
