New Rendering Reveals 141 East 47th Street’s Art Deco-Inspired Details in Midtown East, Manhattan

A new rendering has been revealed for 141 East 47th Street, a 35-story residential tower in Midtown East. Excavation is underway for the 183,310-square-foot project designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Silverback Development. The latter was brought on by Hopson Development Holdings, which previously purchased the parcel for $115 million in December 2019 from the original developers, New Empire Real Estate. The property will contain a mix of studios through two-bedroom units averaging around $1.5 million apiece, as well as 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

517-523 West 29th Street’s Brick Façade Progresses in Chelsea, Manhattan

Exterior work is progressing on 517 West 29th Street, a ten-story residential building in Chelsea. Developed by Churchill Real Estate Holdings and designed by Ben Hanson Architect with Rand Engineering and Architecture as the architect of record, the 135-foot-tall structure will yield 56,160 square feet with 60 condominium units and nine private outdoor parking spaces. The project site is located between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues near the High Line and Hudson Yards, on a plot that once housed a six-story brick building that Six Sigma purchased for $54.75 million.

Zero Irving’s Glass Curtain Wall Progresses at 124 East 14th Street in Union Square, Manhattan

Installation of the glass curtain wall is progressing on Zero Irving, a 21-story mixed-use building at 124 East 14th Street in Union Square. Designed by Davis Brody Bond and developed by RAL Development, the building will yield 240,000 square feet of affordable and market-rate office space for technology firms and amenities for occupants. Financial partners Junius Real Estate Partners and Suffolk Construction are also helping to develop the property, which is located along East 14th Street between Broadway to the west and Third Avenue to the east.

Exterior work is nearing completion on 799 Broadway, a 12-story office building in Greenwich Village. Designed by Perkins + Wills and developed by Columbia Property Trust, the 182-foot-tall structure will yield 180,000 square feet of commercial space marketed by JLL. The corner lot is located at the intersection of Broadway and East 11th Street, and was purchased by Normandy Real Estate Partners and Ares Management in 2016 for $101 million.

Construction is nearing the halfway mark on 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 642-foot-tall Aloft Hotel in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 51-story skyscraper will yield 379 rooms and is expected to cost around $368 million. The property is located at the corner of West 37th Street, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center, and will also feature a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace.
