Curtain Wall Continues to Ascend at 1059 Third Avenue on the Upper East Side

The curtain wall is steadily rising up 1059 Third Avenue, a 481-foot-tall mixed-use tower on the Upper East Side. Designed by Manuel Glas Architects and developed by Real Estate Inverlad and Third Palm Capital, the slender reinforced concrete superstructure topped out at 30 stories and will yield a total of 127,000 square feet. The development will contain 38 condominiums spread across 103,900 square feet, averaging around 2,740 square feet apiece.

Stone Façades Progressing on Beckford Tower and House on the Upper East Side

Exterior work is moving along at Beckford Tower and Beckford House, a pair of residential buildings in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Workers are installing the final sections of Brynne Brownstone and Indiana Limestone on Beckford House, located at 301 East 81st Street, also addressed as 1562 Second Avenue, and Beckford Tower at 301 East 80th Street. The project is designed by Studio Sofield and SLCE Architects and is being developed by Icon Realty ManagementCM & Associates is in charge of construction management.

Jewish Theological Seminary Expansion Readies for March 22 Opening in Morningside Heights

Work on the Jewish Theological Seminary‘s expansion is nearing completion in Morningside Heights. The brick exterior of the seven-story superstructure is finished, while the interiors are likely in the final stages as well. Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects is the designer of the new facility, which will debut in an opening ceremony on March 22, 2020. MNLA is the landscape architect.

Façade Work for 180 East 88th Street Nears Completion on the Upper East Side

Exterior work is nearing completion at 180 East 88th Street, the tallest structure on the Upper East Side above 72nd Street. DDG is the designer and principal developer of the 31-story residential skyscraper, for which HTO Architects is serving as the architect of record and Global Holdings Management is also developing. Petersen Tegl, a Denmark-based firm, is in charge of putting together the thin Kolumba masonry bricks in the gray-colored façade.
