25 Park Row’s Final Floors Rising Above The Financial District As Work Nears 665-Foot Parapet

Once the site of the electronic and music store J&R, 25 Park Row has risen tremendously quick above City Hall Park and the Lower Manhattan skyline in the past year alone. Excavation and foundation work only began in 2017, but the halfway mark for construction was reached in early August. Since then, a new rendering of the 49-story and 665-foot residential skyscraper has been revealed, and work has progressed to the final upper floors directly below the extruded crown that tops the building.

New Renderings for 441 Ninth Avenue aka Hudson Commons, Hudson Yards

With the Hudson Yards and Manhattan West mega developments in Midtown dominating the news, it is easy to forget one sizable project just a block away. Hudson Commons is a major transformation of an eight-story warehouse built in 1962. An additional 17 floors will be added atop the black masonry-clad tower, bringing 700,000 square feet of new office space to the neighborhood. Sales Launch For Extell’s Central Park Tower at 217 West 57th Street, in Midtown, Manhattan

Currently nearing the 1,100-foot elevation mark above West 57th Street, Central Park Tower is well on its way to a 1,550-foot pinnacle above the Midtown skyline and Billionaire’s Row. Now, the Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill designed tower at 217 West 57th Street has officially launched sales of the 179 units that will begin on the 32nd floor, and conclude with a triplex penthouse spanning over 17,000 square feet. Sales are being handled by Extell‘s in-house team.

Façade Installation Starts for David Adjaye’s 66-Story 130 William Street in The Financial District

130 William Street is one of the most highly anticipated buildings currently rising in Lower Manhattan, and after sales launched earlier this summer, another milestone is at hand. The hand cast and oversized concrete arches that will make up the façade, which are purposefully evocative of the city’s historic fabric from the 19th and early 20th centuries, are now quickly rising along the exterior. Adjaye Associates is responsible for the design.

Additional Permits Filed for Major Residential Project at 11-12 and 11-28 30th Drive in Astoria, Queens

Permits have been filed by developer Cape Advisors for two more nine-story residential buildings, at 11-12 30th Drive and 11-28 30th Drive, in Astoria, Queens. The site is between 30th Drive and 31st Street, and Vernon Boulevard and 12th Street. The project’s future address will be 30-77 Vernon Boulevard, and the pair of buildings will rise alongside an adjacent structure at 11-28 30th Drive. All are going up on the same lot, with their combined area taking up almost two-thirds of the entire parcel of land. YIMBY covered Cape’s permits for the first nine-story submission at 11-37 31st Avenue last week.
