Brooklyn Point’s Facade Begins Rising as Superstructure Nears Halfway Mark in Downtown Brooklyn

The soon-to-be tallest skyscraper in Brooklyn is now on the verge of truly towering heights. Since YIMBY last visited Brooklyn Point, the concrete has risen 20 additional floors above street level. The installation of several segments of the façade has added another new element, offering a glimpse at the glass and white paneling soon to dominate the borough’s skyline, at least until 9 DeKalb’s imminent rise nearby. Thomas Heatherwick’s Iconic Pier 55 Park Begins to Rise Above the Hudson River in Chelsea

Excavation In Full Swing for Tishman Speyer’s Spiraling Supertall, Hudson Yards

In June, Tishman Speyer announced that construction would start for their 64-story supertall office tower in the Hudson Yards district, dubbed The Spiral, so named for BIG’s staircase terrace motif. Rising now at 180 East 88th Street is the soon-to-be tallest tower on the Upper East Side above 72nd Street. The 31-story residential building is being developed and designed by DDG, with aesthetic inspiration derived from renowned Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. The structure has reached its 28th floor, leaving three stories remaining before topping-out occurs.
